People Who Get Stuff Done
We’ve been around, both in terms of location and industry. With roots in Indianapolis, New York, Raleigh-Durham and Denver, we use our network to enlist the right people to support your company, all guided by our CEO.
Jean-Marc Kerdy Couvillion
Founder & CEO
Jean-Marc, JM, JMC, Kerdy, or whatever you may know him by has had quite the diverse career, which is what led to the launch of StepChange.
He started working for large public companies, both retailers, getting his experience in corporate finance and special projects, then forecasting and board and investor relations, finally moving on to corporate and merchandise planning combined with the launch and incorporation of new concepts and international expansion. Along with an ability to translate and explain a P&L, Balance Sheet or KPI dashboard to any audience, he acquired a deep knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint, which to this day does not impress his wife despite her occasional request to tap this knowledge.
When he realized the sketch comedy career on the side was not going to pay the bills (true story), he began to focus more on launching concepts, moving on to run a software development firm with a penchant for spinning off companies. He has been focused on starting and growing concepts with firms of all sizes the last several years, offering his operations experience and ability to quickly understand issues and pivot to solutions that scale.
Outside of work, JM can be found chasing around his two kids, DIY-ing something at home or online or helping coach at the local soccer club and little league.

Andre Couvillion
Engagement Lead
We all have superpowers of some sort… it’s just a matter of figuring out what they are. For the last 20 years, Andre has been sharpening his most useful skills – 1) solving problems and 2) anticipating them before they come up.
Working with Design/Build firms in both Washington DC and Denver, Andre’s experience in Development spans across a broad spectrum. After several years focused primarily on the construction side (residential and multi-family), he transitioned to larger roles as a COO: Pre-Construction, Investor and Bank Relations, Zoning/Municipal/Historic Outreach, and Energy Analysis and Code Compliance. He even managed to parlay this breadth of experience into being a Licensed Architect!
But through it all, the focus (or lack of focus?) has always been on this: Competent Problem-Solving Across All Areas. Need accurate monthly bank draws on a mixed-use development project? Check. Need some to communicate clearly with staff through a re-organization? Been there.
When he’s not trying to think two steps ahead for your business, Andre can be found trying (and failing) to match his wife’s musical talents or absolutely crushing his kids at MarioKart.
